Mendelssohn, Felix’s beloved younger sister, recently deceased.

Program II: December 20, 2026

Harp, featuring Jennifer Ellis. In addition, a sampling of holiday delights.
Caleb Burns – ‘Keymaster’ for string quartet. Excited to present this 17-year-old up-and-
coming young composer.
Debussy - Trio for viola, flute and harp. One of Debussy’s final six chamber sonatas,
three of which were left uncompleted.
Debussy – Duo for violin and harp.
Ryan Brown – ‘Under the rug.’
Martha Horst – Dickenson Fragments.   
Ravi Shankar - L'Aube Enchantee. Yes, that Ravi Shankar!

Program III: February 7, 2027 ‘Voyage mystérieux’ v. 2.0.

Karl Reineke – Trio for oboe, horn and piano.
Johannes Brahms – Trio for Violin, Horn and Piano in A-Major. Op. 40. Last heard in our 3rd
concert season!
Additional works by the likes of Manuel de Falla and Malcom Arnold.

Program IV: April 18, 2027

Featuring stellar NYC-based pianist, Elizabeth Schumann, who appears regularly with Live from
Lincoln Center. Those of you lucky enough to have heard Ms. Schumann in her landmark
performance of Brahms’s familiar virtuosic G-minor piano quartet ‘Hungarian’ will recall both
Ms. Schumann’s artistry as well as her radiant smile.

Robert Schumann – Romances. Op. 94.
Beethoven - Serenade for String Trio in D-Major. Op. 8. Fitting that the Sierra Chamber Society
has chosen to conclude its 40 th concert season in a work of Beethoven’s youth upon the occasion
of the 250 th anniversary of his death.
Brahms - Piano Quartet No. 2 in A-Major. Op. 26.

Program V: June 6, 2027

Erwin Schulhoff – 5 Pieces for String Quartet. We pay homage to silenced voices – Schulhoff
lost his life in the Holocaust.
Henriëtte Bosmans - ‘String Quartet.’ Neglected masterwork dating to the ‘20s.  
Robert Schumann – Piano Quartet in E-flat major. Op. 44.
